‘Who is Ertuğrul wife’ in real life is a common question on the Internet. Popular Turkish actress and model Esra Bilgiç plays the role of Halime Sultan in the Turkish series aired on Pakistan Television (PTV). As mentioned in early Ottoman legends, Halime Sultan, a Seljuk Princess, was the wife of Ertuğrul Bey who remained loyal to her tribe. Her marriage to Ertuğrul united the two powerful Seljuk and Oguz empires by blood ties. She was also known as the mother of Osman Ghazi I, Gündüz Alp, and Savci Bey. According to Abdul Hamid II,  Halime Sultan’s burial place is situated in the garden of Ertuğrul Gazi’s grave.

Born October 14th, 1992,  Esra Bilgiç was raised in Ankara, Turkey. She started her acting career at a young age and graduated from Bilkent International University, a private institution. Her first role was as Halime Hatun in Ertuğrul and she made an appearance in Bir Umut Yeter, another well-known television series. Currently, she is working with Ramo, a crime-drama series and the actress played a role in the March 2020 film Adaniş Kutsal Kavga. 

Little is known about her family except that she was raised in a Turkish background and has one brother, Ali Bilgi. Estra’s portrayal as Halime Sultan in the drama made her a firm fan favorite in Pakistan. In July 2020, she became the brand ambassador of smartphone manufacturer QMobile and is particularly noted for her remarkable acting skills, as well as her natural beauty. Her performances earned her numerous accolades, including Best Female Actress in a Series, Anadolu Medya Awards, and Turkey Youth Awards. Since 2014, she was committed to professional Turkish footballer Gökhan Töre, and they tied the knot in 2017. After two years of marriage, the couple filed for divorce on account of personal reasons.

Esra Bilgiç has an active social presence and she is known to spend her free time at beaches. She maintains a great lifestyle by working out frequently and making healthy food choices.
